My grandmother was convinced that the only animal that made the same mistake twice is the human being. A short essay film about my very own Internet, a parallel world where memory loss, errors, surveillance, and addiction taint everything and everyone.
On the night of 22 July 2014, two filmmakers hoist two white American flags on the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. They take the US flags down and fold them in the prescribed orderly fashion. Poetry or threat? An act of surrender or perhaps art? What happens when threatened freedom reinstates art with the element of danger? Who or what makes it into a threat?
Immediately after a Palestinian man signs an online petition, he is thrown into a panic-inducing spiral of self-doubt. Over the course of a conversation with an understanding friend, he analyses, deconstructs, and interprets the meaning of his choice to publicly support the cultural boycott of Israel.
Maryna and Tava are working shifts on a milk farm in eastern Germany. In the village, they are known as ’the two Poles’. They themselves ignore each other’s existence. When the farm manager goes on a business trip, Tava does not show up at work and seems to have disappeared. The next night a disturbing encounter takes place. Maryna wakes up in her container realizing that she is not alone: Tava is lying next to her, fast asleep, firmly clinging to her. But during the night shift Maryna withholds the news of her compatriot’s return. When she returns to her container, Tava has disappeared again.
A presumably African village, inhabited by Germans. This film describes a geographical construction that makes use of ‘our’ medial and collective image of Africa and puts it to the test through inaccuracies. An archaeological find is made in a mine: a Ferrari. We tag along with Joachim on his everyday rounds. He has his heart set on realising a common energy project. The Museum of Prussian Cultural Heritage is run by a black woman. She presents artefacts from Western consumer culture with a special emphasis on German products. Joachim is involved in the ritualistic production of energy in the village but gets excluded when the ceremony is nearing its finale, finally catapulting himself out of the ‘story/history’.
A strange train ride leads through apocalyptic landscapes of electricity and vegetation.
The Imperial Valley represents one of California´s most important regions of industrial agriculture. Corporate agricultural production interests have been able to successfully cultivate and exploit this geological part of the Sonora desert.

Rick is gay and deaf. And he works as a porn actor. This short documentary follows a young man who is able to overcome his impediment and go beyond his boundaries. He is able to live outside of himself and his body and ultimately finds personal liberation in the film studio’s lights.

On a small island, a bunch of exotic creatures run across each other.
Jiro, a little boy, feels sick. His father takes him to the doctor. She diagnoses him with a harmless condition, but it shakes the core of the boy’s identity.
One day the little girl Ola, sitting high above the city looking at the sea, she sees a giant washing himself in the bay. He uses the bay as a bathtub, with ships gliding through the waves like rubber ducks. Through a series of winks and grimaces, Ola and the giant begin to communicate.

Detta första av tre verk är en storbildsprojektion av flygfoton som tagits genom att montera kameror på duvor. De nervöst fladdrande vingarna och den hårda vinden gör att åskådare får ett fragmentariskt intryck som ändå är direkt identifierbart som en politisk demonstration.
Är det en sportmassage vi ser, en performance med kroppsaga eller ömhetsbetygelser där kravlösa gester ersätter känslomässigt djup?
