Fanny och Alexander | Bergman Moods
Upplandsmuseet, 12 October 2018–13 January 2019
Fanny and Alexander is one of Ingmar Bergman’s most epic films. It has a clear connection to Bergman’s childhood and Uppsala – where many of the scenes where filmed. The Academy Mill, the house in which Upplandsmuseet is located, plays a central role in the film as the bishop’s home.
The exhibition offers insight into Bergman’s work with the film and displays a number of costumes and photos. The costumes are from The Royal Dramatic Theater’s production of Fanny and Alexander and are made by costume designer Nina Sandström. The photos, by photographer Magnus Länje, include portraits of the actors as well as photos of typical Bergman scenes. These create a backdrop and give depth to the exhibition.
The short film Bergman’s Reliquarium from 2018, by Tomas Alfredsson and Jesper Walderstens, is also shown in the exhibition. Here you meet Swedish celebrities such as Lena Olin and Veronica Maggio.
The exhibition is produced in cooperation with Upplandsmuseet, The Ingmar Bergman Foundation, Dramaten, costume designer Nina Sandström, and photographer Magnus Länje.
