Through memories and interviews with her immediate family, the director reflects on the effect globalization has on the African woman’s understanding of beauty. An exploration of “feeling a little bit uncomfortable”, the film describes our almost schizophrenic pursuit of globalised beauty in the ideas and theories sown into our flesh that change with the arc of time. The idea of beauty has become globalised, creating homogenous aspirations, and distorting people’s self-image across the planet.
