THE WAY YOU KILL IS THE WAY YOU LIVE
Part of a series of ten films talking about the conflicts that come up about how we look at ourselves and how the rest of the world sees Greenland because of our rich traditional life, with hunting, having hunting dogs, religions, etc.
INUIT WOMAN CITY BLUES
Greenlandic women in Denmark is one of the country’s most overlooked and alienated groups. The film comes close to a few of these women, follows their futile everyday lives and listens to fragments of their stories about abuse and addiction. At the same time, through archive films, poetry and songs, the beauty of Greenlandic mentality and culture is displayed.
Revolving around the themes of cultural alienation and the contrast between mythological nature and western culture, this film gives us a heartbreaking peek into a traditional Greenlandic background, which stands in contrast to the everyday life of the new reality.
An intense and intimate drama of a man at a dark crossroads in his life trapped in a
nightmare scenario of his own creation.
HALF & HALF
Aka Hansen ponders her mixed heritage by posing well-struck questions about how others perceive her, which in contrast to the filmic symmetry suggests that identity cannot be split neatly in half.
A short documentary with and about dance for young people in Greenland. The goal was to create an inspiring and visually beautiful film, that presents an unedited window to the young people in the film. Our film follows four young Greenlandic dancers through
workshops that took place in Greenland in October 2015.
