In 2014, she completed an MA in Directing at the London Film School, where she made several award-winning shorts. Since 2015, she is the Artistic Director of Sofia Pride Film Festival, the biggest LGBTQ+ art event in Bulgaria. After losing a well-paid engineering job, Toomas, a young, hot wolf, gets cornered into working as a gigolo to support his family. He is keeping it a secret from his pregnant wife, Viivi. Viivi also has a secret: she is attending a female empowerment seminar involving male slaves. When Toomas gets a role in a sexploitation movie, it becomes harder to keep his new profession a secret.

Chintis Lundgren, b 1981, is an Estonian animation director. She started in 2008 as an independent author and since 2011 she runs her own animation studio called Chintis Lundgreni Animatsioonistuudio. What cures women of sexual promiscuity? Eating lettuce, of course. Fragments of Forough Farrokhzad’s poem, “Sin,” are read out against Islamic clergies advising women on how to control their lust.

IRAN 2018. Experimental/Documentary. 8 min. DIRECTION/PRODUCTION: Maryam Tafakory. Maryam Tafakory is an Iranian artist-filmmaker based in London. She received an MFA from Oxford University and her work has screened at numerous international film festivals. Part performance, her work draws on womanhood and rites of passage, interweaving poetry, (self)censorship and religion, combining a formal minimalist syntax and figurative mode of representation. It is night on a national road. Two strangers meet for the first time at an old gas station. One has stopped to gas up his bike, while the other is just stranded. Lacking the 22.50€ he needs to get home, the stranded man will try to sell the other the distance that separates them from the sky.

GREECE 2019. Fiction. 9 min. DIRECTION/SCRIPT: Vasilis Kekatos PRODUCTION: Eleni Kossyfidou, Delphine Schmit PHOTOGRAPHY: Giorgos Valsamis. Vasilis Kekatos, b 1991 in Kefalonia, Greece, is a graduate student at the Film Department of Brunel University’s School of Arts in London. Vasilis is currently working on his upcoming debut feature. He is also the artistic director of SeaNema Open Air Film Festival. SELECTED FILMOGRAPHY: The Silence of the Dying Fish (2018).


A betrayed wife starts to investigate her husband’s mistresses. Her jealousy is gradually replaced by curiosity as she makes a collection of her findings about the other women.

FRANCE/HUNGARY 2019. Animation/Fiction. 13 min. DIRECTION: Nadja Andrasev PRODUCTION: Miyu Productions, József Fülöp, Orsolya Sipos. Nadja Andrasev is a Hungarian animation filmmaker. Her graduation film from MOME Anim premiered at the Cinéfondation Selection at Cannes, winning the Joint Third Prize. SELECTED FILMOGRAPHY: A nyalintás nesze (2016).


Alina rides horses. She is good at it, as she is with everything she does. Alina smokes crack. She feels more at home with the people who provide her with the drug than with her own family. Alina crumbles but she has something to hold on to. A dream of a simple life, growing tomatoes.

NICARAGUA 2018. Fiction. 21 min. DIRECTION/SCRIPT: Laura Baumeister PRODUCTION: Rossana Baumeister PHOTOGRAPHY: Teresa Kuhn. Laura Baumeister is a Nicaraguan director. She studied Directing at Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica in México. Her short film Isabel Im Winter was screened at the Critics Week in Cannes and won Best Short Film at Ícaro Film Festival.
